“It’s about keeping your family and those close to you safe, you’re protecting them.”

That’s the message from Reading FC Women captain and Wales international Tash Harding who, along with new team mate Faye Bryson, has fronted a video encouraging people to get their Covid-19 jab.

The video, put out by Reading Borough Council – who themselves are promoting a walk-in jab clinic at the Council offices over the weekend – went up at lunch time of Friday.

“It’s not about you, and that’s what everyone has to remember. We’re not here to preach about getting it done, but like Faye says if you’ve got family members, you want to protect them.”

Bryson is a new signing at the Madejski from Bristol City while Harding is in her fourth year with the Royals having played previously for Manchester City and Liverpool, and has over 80 caps for Wales.

The walk-in centre at Reading Borough Council offices on Bridge Street (RG1 2LU), is open 9:30 am to 5:30 pm over the weekend. No appointment or NHS number is needed.
