A look at three women’s football league games worth your attention this weekend with the trio of selections, by our women’s football correspondent Abi Ticehurst, this week coming from the Southern Region Women’s Football League and Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League.

1. Woodley United Ladies vs Wycombe Wanderers

Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division

Wycombe men may have fallen foul of Reading earlier in the week, but tomorrow’s fixture gives the Chairgirls the chance to make amends as they take on Woodley United Ladies. That said, Woodley sit comfortably at the top of the table having secured 2 wins in 2 having played fellow Berkshire sides Newbury to a 6-2 win in the opening weekend with a hattrick from Rosie Page-Smith as well as narrowly beating Ascot 1-0 the following week.

2. Caversham AFC Ladies vs Wargrave Women AFC

A top half of the table clash, just a point separates the pair and Caversham have a game in hand. Wargrave tried their hand in the FA Cup this season but were knocked out by Woodley in the Extra Preliminary Round. Dorothy Usher will be keen to notch another goal on her scoresheet as she’s bagged herself 5 in 5.

3. Newbury Ladies Development vs Caversham AFC Women

Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Division 3S

A bottom of the table scrap as both teams are yet to secure themselves three points with four games each played. Caversham will be looking to open the scoring account, whilst Newbury will be looking to build on the upset they caused when they drew 1 all with table toppers Mortimer just two games ago.

Donnington Recreation Ground, Oxford Road, Donnington, Newbury RG14 2LD, 2pm. Please check with the host club before travelling.
