Three to watch: The Berkshire Women’s games worth keeping an eye on this weekend

Three games to look out for on Sunday.

Our new segment for the Berkshire women’s game, each week we’ll highlight three games to look out for ahead of Sunday’s games.

1. Ascot United vs Ascot United

Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division

First fixture of the 2020/21 season. Both teams begin the season having bowed out of the FA Cup in the First Round Qualifying. Need I say more.

Ascot United Racecourse Ground, Winkfield Road, Ascot, Berkshire, SL5 7LJ. Please check with the host club before travelling.

2. Tilehurst Panthers vs Caversham AFC Ladies

Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Division 1

Tilehurst are fresh off the back of their FA Cup exit and sit fairly comfortably in second place having played just two games, whilst Caversham find themselves 8th in the table after two defeats and a win over Wokingham & Emmbrook. The teams drew 1-1 in a pre-season friendly.

The Rivermoor Stadium, Scours Lane, RG30 6AY. Please check with the host club before travelling.

3. Shinfield Rangers Women vs Wraysbury Village Ladies

Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Development Division

Wraysbury’s Sarah Bright is the division’s top goalscorer with 6 goals in 3 appearances. Shinfield are brand new to the league so it’s all to play for this season, for the squad.

Millworth Recreation Grounds, Shinfield, Reading, RG2 9EN. Please check with the host club before travelling.
