Among the many different ‘post a picture’ threads that have been doing the rounds on social media at the moment, one has been busy wracking up £1,700 for the NHS.

Dreamt up by Slough Town’s prolific scorer of long-range goals Scott Davies, #picforapoundfortheNHS encourages Twitter, Instagram and Facebook users to post a picture of themselves from any walk of life with the hashtag and donate a pound to the GoFundMe page.

Initially, Scott set a target of £1,000, but so far, 150 donors have pledged between them £1,795.

Listen to Scott Davies on the Talking Tactics seminar:

On the GoFundMe page, Scott writes: “With everything that is going on at the moment, us as a nation have our part to play for those fantastic people on the frontline putting their lives at risk to save lives.

As we all know, social media can be a tough place to be at times, but that doesn’t need to be the case. Let’s all get together and show how grateful we are for the work the NHS are undertaking right now.

We live our life through social media, posting photos and making comments. So now, all we want you to do is find a photo, from any walk of life, and post it with the hashtag #PicForAPoundForTheNHS and then going on to donate £1 to our gofundme
page.

All proceeds will go to the NHS. Don’t be that guy or girl who posts a photo and doesn’t donate! Please get involved.”

There have been some great photos posted already, many from Slough Town supporters.
