On Saturday Binfield will be one of three remaining Hellenic League clubs walking out in the Second Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Binfield host Evo Stik Southern League Division 1 side Cirencester Town at Hill Farm Lane (ko 3pm) as the Moles equal the furthest they have reached in the competition.

The other two Hellenic sides in the competition are Burnham who head to Essex to play Billericay Town and Wantage Town who travel to Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town.

Of course, when it gets to the Second Qualifying Round, there are no easy games for a step 5 or 6 side but Binfield have the mildly better chance of progression given Cirencester are a step 4 side while Hungerford and Billericay are at step 3.

Binfield vs Cirencester Town

Disappointment for the Moles last Saturday as they were knocked out of the FA Vase at AFC Stoneham, they’ve had a week to recover but will be without the suspended duo of Jeff Brown and captain James Knight.

According to the Bracknell News, Sean Moore and Danny Horscroft are injury doubts while the Moles have been without top goalscorer Ian Davies for several games though Carlo Santoro and substitute Eddie Lee were both impressive in the defeat.

Cirencester are 9th in the Southern League Division 1 South with two wins, a draw and two defeats from the opening five games.

Hungerford Town vs Wantage Town

Given some of the distances clubs are having to travel – see Holyport in the FA Vase – this one counts almost as a derby match.

The Freds are one of the fancied sides for the Hellenic Premier Division title but after a brief wobble at Lydney Town at the weekend, hit back with a 6-0 win at home to Holmer Green on Tuesday night.

The Crusaders might just be for the taking in the FA Cup though with just two wins from the opening 10 games of the Vanarama League.

The last time the two sides met in a league encounter was during the 2008/09 in the Hellenic Premier, Hungerford were champions – the start of their rise to the National League and Wantage finished 11th.

Billericay Town vs Burnham

This should be straight forward for the National League South divisions second placed side Billericay, up against a team four divisions below them – but of course as the cliche goes in the FA Cup, you never know.

The Essex side have just appointed Hemel Hempstead boss Dean Brennan but Burnham will have a bit of confidence of their own following a 5-3 win over Hellenic League Division 1 East leaders AFC Aldermaston on Tuesday.

The Blues have already beaten higher opposition in this seasons competition, Bostik League Division 1 North side Bury Town were the victims in the First Qualifying Round.

Here’s a reminder of everything you need to know about this seasons competition including that fourth extra time substitute!
