Abingdon United are the visitors to Reading on Monday night, our ground guide for visiting supporters is here – and they suffered a 2-0 opening day defeat at Holmer Green.
City were kept off top spot by Royal Wootton Bassett Town who put six past Tuffley Rovers in a 6-1 victory. New signing TJ Bohane scored a hat-trick on his second debut for the club while former Binfield winger Brad Pagliaroli scored two.
Wantage Town made hard work of things at Fairford Town, the Freds were 2-0 down until a penalty inspired a comeback and a 3-2 win – though there was some controversy over the equaliser with the home side claiming it had hit the side netting.
