On Saturday there is a battle between landlords and tenants at Summerleaze Village as Holyport host Langley.

Holyport are undefeated in the Hellenic Division One East so far this season but this will be just their 5th game in the league, with them taking 8 points from their previous 4. Langley, who are in their second season of ground sharing at Holyport’s ground, had managed to go two games without defeat and take their first 4 point of the season, lifting themselves off the foot of the table in the process. That run was ended abruptly with a 5-0 defeat at home to Marlow United in midweek.

At Scours Lane Woodley United will face a tough assignment as they entertain the league leaders Risborough Rangers. The Kestrels are enduring a tough run of results having not won in the league since mid-August. Risborough on the other hand have not lost in any competition so far this season. They sit at the top of the league with 19 points from 7 games.

At Lowther Road Wokingham & Emmbrook welcome Risborough’s main title rivals in the shape of Marlow United. Marlow are the only side to have taken a point off Risborough so far this season and have not tasted defeat since they lost to Woodley back in mid-August. The Sumas currently sit in mid table but have games in hand over most of the other sides in the league. A win for Wokingham would leave them well positioned in their pursuit of one of the four promotion places available this season.

Wallingford Town face local opposition as they host Didcot Town Development at the Wallingford Sports Park. Wally sit 14th in the table and suffered a narrow defeat in midweek, going down 2-1 at the hands of Abingdon United. Didcot will be tough opposition as they are undefeated in their last 3 games in all competitions.

In the Combined Counties Division One the match of the day sees Sandhurst Town travel to the Channel Islands to face Jersey Bulls in a battle of 1st vs 2nd. The Fizzers are currently in 2nd place in the table, 4 points ahead of Farnham Town in 3rd but 7 behind their opponents this weekend, as a strong start to the season has seen them take 20 points from 9 games.

However, Jersey will be formidable opponents as they have won all of their 9 matches so far and they have amassed 38 goals with just 4 conceded in that time. Sandhurst will have to be at their best to get anything from their overseas trip this weekend.

Back on the mainland Eversley & California host British Airways at the ESA Ground. The Boars currently sit at the foot of the table but a win this weekend could see them climb as high as 16th in the 20-team league. British Airways, who play their home games at Bedfont & Feltham’s Orchard ground, are currently 9th in the table with 12 points from 9 games.
