It’s change across the board at Thames Valley Premier League side Newbury as a new management team is appointed, and new chairman at the top.
Former striker Danny Langford will take the chairmans role having just lead Kintbury Rangers to Step 6 football, while Carl Jenner will take over the managers role.
A statement released via the clubs Facebook page said: Newbury Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of the new management team for the upcoming season. Our new First Team Manager is Carl Jenner, a highly experienced and respected coach who will be supported by Assistant Manager James O’Doherty and experienced coaches Luke Gray and Scott Jenner.
We are also excited to announce the return of Danny Langford to the Club. Danny will become our Chairman following our imminent AGM, taking over from Richard Jackson, to whom we would like to express our thanks and appreciation to him for all his help over the last season.
Many of you will know Danny and his wealth of football knowledge and as being a well-known goal scorer for clubs such as Binfield and Royal Wootton Bassett. He has a successful track record at management too, previously leading Newbury FC to a promotion to the Thames Valley Premier League before joining Kintbury leading them to 2nd place in 23/24 season.
Danny will oversee all football matters for the foreseeable future at Faraday Road, ensuring the Team perform on and off the pitch!
Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Nic Robbins to the Committee. Nic is a prominent person in Newbury’s football community. He brings fresh ideas and connections to the role and he is really looking forward to his role as Head of Commercial and Social Media. His aim is to help to “Bring the glory days back to the Town”
Further changes to the revitalised Committee are Tom Jackson as Vice-Chair and James O’Doherty as Director of Football.
The future is once again looking bright for Newbury FC following their return to Faraday Road, thanks to the support of West Berkshire Council and the future ground development plans including a 3G pitch, all of which herald a new dawn on bringing football back to the heart of Newbury.
We wish Carl, James, Luke, Scott, Danny and Nic all the best as they lead the team into the future!
