Slough Town defender Dan Bayliss has had a quite the week, scoring at former EFL Championship side Yeovil Town and extending his contract at Arbour Park.
The centre-back has quickly become a crowd favourite at the Rebels after joining in the summer of 2023 from Bracknell Town – linking up again with Temi Eweka – and is now contracted to the club until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Bayliss was part of a ‘juggernaut’ Bracknell side that won the Isthmian League South Central Division One and faced Ipswich Town in the FA Cup.
Rebels manager Scott Davies wrote on club website: “Bayliss has become a hugely important part of the team with his performances this season. He plays a big role within the changing room as one of the many leaders that we have so for him to commit to us this early on is great news.”
Bayliss himself said: “I’m delighted to get this announced finally. When Scotty gave me a call to discuss this it was a no brainer for me, we have a very special group here both on and off the pitch.”
On Tuesday night Slough faced a challenging away day at Vanarama National League South Yeovil, eventually losing 3-1 after Bayliss had brought the score back to 2-1 with a sensational strike at Huish Park.
Elsewhere Slough have added 20-year-old midfielder Christie Ward on loan from Wycombe Wanderers until the end of February.
They next face Weston-super-Mare on Saturday 3rd (3pm) as they look to get back on track with a play-off push. The Rebels are 15 games unbeaten at home and have extra food options and live music planned for the game.
