Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One Eversley & California are searching for a new manager after Matty Angell announced he was stepping down.

The Boars boss posted the news on Twitter on Monday night saying: “Been a great four and a half years filled with amazing memories and proud of what we have achieved as a group.”

Angell returned to the club for a second spell in December 2018 and evolved the side from one fighting against relegation from Step 6 to one that made the play-offs in 2022.

Angell, who’s business Creative Lifestyle Planning supported the Berkshire Football Stories podcast for two seasons, has seen a flurry of responses to the news including Boars captain Connor Allston who said: “All the best gaff!! Some great memories there! Shame to see this but you’ve done an immense job at the club!”

Meanwhile former Binfield and Wokingham & Emmbrook boss Roger Herridge wrote: “Best of luck for your future Matty, you have done a fantastic job Eversley & California.”
