There’s been plenty of Windsor nostalgia in the last six months following the publication of the brilliant ‘Wearing The Red & Green’ – a book chronicling the history of Windsor & Eton Football Club from 1892 to 2011.
Written by supporter Michael Gegg, the book follows the club’s FA Cup runs, promotions, relegations and famous nights, as well of course as the eventual demise of the club in the High Court in 2011.
Now, after a successful event at Stag Meadow that brought together a number of former players and old faces to rewatch the 1983 FA Cup Second Round tie with AFC Bournemouth, copies of the game are available to buy – with all monies raised headed to Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.
Michael Gegg, author of ‘Wearing The Red & Green’ said: “I’m delighted to announce that I have a digital recording of our famous 1983 FA Cup game against Harry Redknapp’s AFC Bournemouth available for sale. While not HD quality, there’s the full 90 minutes (minus a couple of instances where the video obviously got a bit ropey), with commentary.
“As a reminder, with the draw for the Third Round Proper already made, the winners of this tie would be playing Ron Atkinson’s FA Cup holders Manchester United, in the next round.”
