‘End of an ear’ is blazed across the Slough Town tweet this afternoon as the club announced that long-serving defender Sean Fraser will leave the club at the end of the season.

Fraser has made 366 appearances for the Rebels and is in the top 10 of the club’s all-time appearance makers.

Writing on the club website, co-manager Neil Baker said: “Sean has been an absolute credit to himself and his family ever since we have been at the club, he has been an excellent player in whatever position he has played for us, and his attitude is something that players should aspire to have.

“We were delighted to inherit Sean, and he is in fact the last player from that playoff winning side in our first season.”

Fraser made his debut back in August 2012 against Corinthian and played a big part in the Rebels rise back up the leagues to their current Vanarama National League South level. The Slough Town website lists Falkirk, Coventry City, Marlow and Banbury United amongst the versatile defender’s former clubs.

It is unclear if Fraser intends to retire at the end of the season with the club statement saying: “At the current time he is not sure if he will continue to play, and this will be a decision he might make later in the summer, but with a young family he feels now is the right time to step away.”
