Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One side Chalvey Sports have announced the departure of manager Darren Purbrick.
Purbrick stepped up from the role as Assistant Manager in the summer after Matty Young stepped down and had high ambitions for the season ahead with the Stabmonks starting well, picking up three points against current leaders Hilltop and draws with Rayners Lane and Bedfont & Feltham.
Chalvey didn’t quite manage to push on and are currently six games without a win since an impressive win over Rayners Lane at the start of December.
A statement posted on Twitter from Chalvey chairman Scott Young said: “It is with deep regret that we have to announce that Darren Purbrick has decided to step down as first-team manager.
“Darren had been involved with us for the last three seasons and we would like to thank him for his hard work and dedication during his time with us. Thanks Dazza.”
Young added personally: “Darren will always be welcome at the club and I’d like to think that I have gained a good friend over the last couple of years and that will continue into the future. Thank you mate. It’s a sad day for me.”
Purbrick, previously assistant manager at Finchampstead and Woodley United in the Hellenic League, originally joining the Stabmonks 18 months prior from Woodley.
Next up for Chalvey in the league is a home fixture at Burnham FC against Wallingford Town on Saturday.
