Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One side Chalvey Sports have switched ground shares for the 2021/22 season.

The Stabmonks had been playing at Arbour Park along with Vanarama National League South side Slough Town and CCL rivals Langley, but have opted to move to Premier Division North Burnham for next season.

In a statement to Football in Berkshire, Chalvey chairman Scott Young said: “It’s happened within the last week and has all been hush hush at the moment whilst finalising the details, hence why nothings been shared until those fixtures came out last night.

“Arbour Park has become very busy – which is great for a council-owned facility – and especially for midweek matches with us, Slough Town, Langley and Sloughs u18’s and u23’s. Slough quite rightly take priority for training on Tuesday evenings when they aren’t playing as well.

“The new league [Combined Counties League] couldn’t see how both us and Langley could fit all our fixtures in especially as other midweek nights are booked for other bookings with Slough Borough Council.

“Either us or Langley would’ve had to have moved for season 2022/23 because of this, so we’ve made the jump and Burnham is a great fit for us. It’s local, has great facilities and has a brand new 3G pitch the same as what we are used to playing on. Burnham are happy to accommodate us and we can see that our fixtures are now so much easier to arrange around theirs that it makes complete sense.

“Burnham are looking to create a community feel and it’s great for us to be part of that.”

Young added a thank you for the support of Slough’s secretary: “A big big thank you to Slough Town secretary Kay Lathey. Without her help we wouldn’t have been able to function at Arbour Park over the last 5 seasons. Her help and advice has been invaluable.”
