Uhlsport Hellenic League Holyport have announced a significant addition to the clubs backroom staff as Derek Sweetman’s side gear up for another promotion push.
The Port are largely unchanged from 2019/20 aside from the departure of top scorer Fabian Driffill to Marlow and Josh Masters to Ascot United and have added a number of new faces like Joe Newman from Cookham Dean and Ethan Giles from Maidenhead United Academy.
It is off the pitch where clubs most striking addition has been made in the shape of former Maidenhead youth and Bracknell Town boss Sam Lock.
The club made the announcement as part of a move to encourage a few Magpies fans – who’s Vanarama National League campaign isn’t scheduled to kick off until the start of October – through the turnstile at Summerleaze.
Lock was in charge of Bracknell at the start of the 2019/20 season from Geoff Warner but parted company with the club in October.
Holyport begin their Division One East campaign at home to Thame Rangers on Saturday (3pm). Full details of the weekends fixtures can be found here.
