Mortimer club officials were greeted with a bit of a shock when they arrived at their home ground on Saturday.
Overnight the goalposts that were to be used in the afternoon’s game against Newbury were damaged beyond repair.
Thankfully Mortimer found another set of goalposts and were able to ensure the game went ahead, although it finished with a 2-1 win for the visitors, ending a nine match unbeaten run for the village side.
If anyone saw or heard anything overnight please get in touch. The police have been informed. The game today vs @NewburyTownFC is ON. https://t.co/o6NEnOl0d3 pic.twitter.com/PVzOve6WRT
