Slough Town fired on all cylinders against Haddenham Youth as they put five past the Buckinghamshire-based hosts in the First Round Qualifying of the Women’s FA Cup.

A hattrick from Alice Heady, plus goals from Natalie Richardson and Hannah Summers secured the spot for the Rebels. Here’s everything the manager, Craig Gareppo, had to say on the team performance.

On the line-up

Craig Gareppo (CG): We were forced into a change prior to the game starting, one of our centre-backs got injured in the warm up, which isn’t an ideal scenario for an important game.

On changing tactics

CG: The opening 20 mins was very scrappy, we tweaked our formation and we dominated the game from then on and fully deserved our victory.”

On the team performance

CG: The team performance was very good and were extremely pleased with the levels the players were at.
Were now looking forward to Oxford City at home in the next round.

On the referee

CG: On a side note, referees get a lot of flack at this level, our referee on Sunday was exceptional, Richard Blackwood was probably the best ref we have had in as many years as I can remember.
