Sandhurst Town vs AFC Wimbledon: Media coverage

Looking back at the Dons first competitive opponents

Way back in March, I was invited over to interview Pete Browning and Steve Stairs, the men in charge of Sandhurst Town when they hosted AFC Wimbledon in the Dons first ever competitive fixture on Saturday 17th August 2002.

That interview is available below as part of series on of the Berkshire Football Stories podcast, but in addition Pete brought along a lot of newspaper cuttings of the Combined Counties League match from the Aldershot News & Mail, as well as the an original matchday programme.

I took pictures of a lot of it and I’ve laid it all out below in a gallery. My thanks to both Pete and Steve for their time reminiscing.

Listen to Pete Browning and Steve Stairs discuss the big day on the latest Berkshire Football Stories podcast.
