Youngster Chloe Connor is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Young Player of the Season (Female) sponsored by STAR Supporters Trust At Reading.
One nomination for the award said: “Having been a part of an incredibly successful U16s, Chloe’s ascot team made the brave decision to enter the JPL, a much more competitive and fiercely fought league with the likes of Fulham, Watford, and Millwall also entering. Alongside this new challenge Chloe was also invited to take the step up into senior women’s football and play for the Ascot ladies first team. Chloe is an incredibly gifted young player, with a composure that equals that of the most experienced senior players. Not only has Chloe racked up numerous defensive clean sheets, player of the match performances, and become a pivotal part of two progressive teams this season, but she guided the u18s to a first place finish in the league and was a vital member in the the ladies side that secured the SRWFL league cup. All this at just 16-17 years of age.”
Another added: “Chloe captained Ascot’s JPL Girl’s Youth U18 side to a title-winning 2022/23 campaign coming up against teams including Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Notts County, Millwall and Watford amongst others. They went toe to toe throughout the season, but finished four points clear with Chloe at the helm.rnrnChloe also broke into the Women’s First Team this season with her calm and collected presence in the defensive line for the Yellas, never looking out of place in the senior side.”
