A ten-minute blast either side of half-time saw Reading FC Women past a spirited Birmingham City in the FA WSL on Sunday – the standout strike coming from Royals youngster Emma Harries.

Royals were 2-0 down to City at the Select Car Leasing Stadium and had seen goalkeeper Grace Moloney stretchered off to be replaced by another youngster Rhiannon Stewart, when Justine Vanhaevermaet pulled a goal back in first-half injury time.

The scores were level three minutes into the second half when Natasha Dowie scored from the penalty box and Reading won it on 55 when Harries met an inch-perfect Deanne Rose cross from the left wing.

Rose – returning the favour when Harries helped her on her way to the only goal of the game against Chelsea – turned two Birmingham defenders before crossing to Harries, the striker athletically opening her body out in mid-air to guide the ball back across the helpless Emily Ramsey in the City goal.

The only thing to do now is to watch Emma Harries goal again, and again, and again:
