The non-league football season really does get started – at least at steps 4, 5 and 5 – on Saturday with the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, the Hellenic League’s first fixtures and a third round of matches in the Combined Counties League.
Four Berkshire sides are in Emirates FA Cup action, Binfield, Thatcham Town, Windsor and Bracknell Town with the latter at Badshot Lea, a reunion with two Robins legends in Carl Davies and Gavin Smith who leads the Baggies.
Reading City and Virginia Water get going in the Hellenic Premier while there’s almost a full program of fixtures in Division One East with two Friday night fixtures.
