Two local footballers are embarking on completely different challenges in the coming weeks, and we thought it right to give them a little nudge and support them in their endeavours writes Tom Canning.
Midfielders James Suarez (Bracknell Town) and Danny Horscroft (Binfield) are taking on an intense challenge a-piece as James takes part in the London Marathon while Danny is going from Lands End to John O’Groats on his bike.
Here’s what they are up to and why you should part with some of your hard earned cash.

Lands End to John O’Groats
This isn’t for the faint hearted, trust me. The mental part of this trip was the biggest hill – along with some mighty terrain in Cornwall when I did this last August.
Ripped direct from the Binfield website, Danny is cycling the almost a 1,000 mile route in May with his brother James raising money for Cystic Fibrosis.

London Marathon
If that wasn’t hard enough, Bracknell Town midfielder James Suarez is taking on the London Marathon on Sunday despite having suffered a rib injury several weeks ago in the Robins relegation battle.
He says: “I am running the London marathon as its something I have always watched and thought I would love to do that.
“If I was going to do it I felt I needed something to keep me going on them dark cold winter nights when I was out training. So I decided to run for Wizz kids. They help less able children get into sport.”
