It is being reported that Highmoor Ibis manager Marcus Richardson is the latest Hellenic Premier Division boss to part company with his club following in the footsteps of Mark Tallentire at Bracknell Town and Michael Herbert at Woodley United in the last week.

The Bracknell News’s sports reporter Dave Wright tweeted on Tuesday morning: ‘Sorry to hear Marcus Richardson has quit as Highmoor Ibis manager. One of the nicest guys in local football.’

The Scours Lane side have finished 11th and 14th in their last two seasons after successive and impressive fourth and second placed finishes between 2013 and 2015.

Richardson – a former football league striker with the likes of Hartlepool United and Cambridge United – had hit out at his side in the media in recent weeks calling a 6-0 defeat to Flackwell Heath ‘on of the most embarrassing results I have had in football’ and while an impressive 3-1 win at Brimscombe & Thrupp 10 days ago will have lifted spirits at the club – Monday nights 1-0 home defeat by bottom side Burnham appears to have been the end of the line for the manager.

We’ll update this post if and when Highmoor release any official information. We have contacted the club for comment.
