The season is barely over and already we have the full round-dates for the 2016/17 Emirates FA Cup which will begin a full nine days earlier than last season meaning just one Hellenic Premier League game will be played.
736 teams entered the 2015/16 edition of the competition which was eventually won by Manchester United at Wembley, although the number of entrants was 27 short of the record set during 2011/12.
Update: Here’s the dates for the 2017/18 FA Cup competition
Anyone familiar with non-league football will know the world’s oldest cup competition begins in August – eight rounds starting with the extra-preliminary round before the Premier League sides join the fray in January.
We’ve done a few features around artificial surfaces, and you’ll be pleased to know that they are permitted in the competition but must be of at least FIFA One Star quality, or Two Star if the match involves one of the 92 Football League clubs.
So here are the dates for the 2016/17 Emirates FA Cup:
Extra Preliminary Round – Saturday 6th August
Preliminary Round – Saturday 20th August
1st Qualifying Round – Saturday 3rd September
2nd Qualifying Round – Saturday 17th September
3rd Qualifying Round – Saturday 1st October
4th Qualfying Round – Saturday 15th October
