The 2025 Women’s Euros is set to kick off on Wednesday 2nd of July 2025 with Switzerland playing host to the 14th edition of the UEFA competition. The competition is set to run for three weeks across eight cities including Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lucerne, Sion, St Gallen, Thun and Zurich.
There are eight former Royals representing three different nations in the European tournament, all vying to secure the much coveted trophy won by England in 2023.
Belgium

Justine Vanhaevermaet is the solo Belgian representing former Royals, having played for Reading between 2021 and 2023. The midfielder made 39 appearances and is known for her threat in the air using her height for advantage and scoring 6 goals for Reading. She has represented the Red Flames senior squad since 2012 with 7 goals in 67 appearances.

Denmark

Sanne Troelsgaard also the solo Danish representative of former Reading players having signed for the Royals from 2021 to 2024, netting four goals in 34 appearances, she’s dynamic and will run and run for Denmark. She has represented the Red and White senior squad since 2008 with 57 goals in 181 appearances.

Wales
Wales are set to play in their first major championship at this tournament having qualified in December 2024 by beating the Republic of Ireland 2-1. Reading have always been well acquainted with a cohort of Welsh players and the 2025 Welsh squad is littered with former Royals with no less than six players featured including defenders Gemma Evans and Lily Woodham, Charlie Estcourt and Angharad James-Turner holding steady in midfield, Rachel Rowe featuring for the strikers and Welsh legend (at least we think so) Jess Fishlock returning for her nineteenth year playing senior international football. The hexad of teammates have a collective 317 appearance for Reading and 534 for the Dragons. Fishlock is perhaps the standout for the team with 162 of those appearances and 47 goals to her name.
