Shakespeare once wrote in his story of star-crossed lovers, ‘What’s in a name?’ as spoken by Juliet to Romeo to suggest that a name is nothing but a convention and has no meaning. However, there’s almost always a story around why a football club has a nickname and more often than not it’s endearing or interesting. 

This mini-series will explore the what’s, where’s, who’s and why’s of our Berkshire clubs and their nicknames.
