Reading FC Women have confirmed the signing of Brooke Hendrix on a two year deal from A-League club Melbourne Victory.
Hendrix has plied her trade across the globe in the last decade beginning her USL W-League Atlanta Silverbacks before joining Rangers in the Scottish Division, FC Staad in Switzerland, Fylkir in Iceland, Brescia in the Italian Women’s Serie A where she played in the Women’s Champions League. She then embarked on a season with West Ham United in the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2018/19. She then returned home and spent some time in the US having been acquired by Washington Spirit before she switched to Racing Louisville. Before moving to her final club before the Royals in the shape of Melbourne Victory.
“From my first conversation with Kelly [Chambers], I was just amazed with how passionate she is about the game. You can feel that throughout all the coaching staff, and as a player you’re just really encouraged about their passion, teamwork as you know they’ll give it everything to make you the best player you can be.
The defender has already spent some time in the Women’s Super League having been part of the West Ham United squad during the 2018-2019 season.
“For me, this season is all about playing consistently at a high level. Since I left England, I’ve not been able to play as often as I would like for many reasons, so I want to find that rhythm again, solidify the backline, and of course help us win games. The girls did so well last season with their record unbeaten run, now we have to try and go one better, and I want to help be a part of that.”
Hendrix will be in search of that winning feeling having joined Reading fresh from victory as Melbourne were crowned Women’s A-League Champions in March and having significantly improved their defensive record.
Welcome to Berkshire, Brooke!
