BetVictor Isthmian League South Central Division One side Bracknell Town have signed goalkeeper Chris Rackley from Basingstoke Town.
Robins fans discovered they had a new number one when the team sheets were released and the former Thatcham stopper was between the sticks for the Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup penalty shootout win at Chalfont St Peter on Tuesday night.
An experienced goalkeeper, Rackley spent five years at Thatcham Town and won the FA Vase in 2017/18 at Wembley alongside new Bracknell team mates Harrison Bayley and Shane Cooper-Clark.
Rackley left Thatcham in the summer and had signed for Marlow but had been in goal for Southern League Basingstoke in the recent 4-2 defeat to Paulton Rovers at the start of November.
Stephen Peters, Bracknell’s spokesperson on football matters said Rackley – who is also registered with Binfield – said the goalkeeper was a permanent signing rather than a dual registration.
The Robins recently lost captain Mark Scott who has elected to take some time away from the game.
