Bracknell Town make ‘massive statement’ with striker signing

Sam Lock has his dream forward line at Larges Lane

Bracknell Town manager Sam Lock says he has his ideal forward line after adding former Maidenhead United and Ascot United striker Nathan Minhas to his squad.

The Robins boss will be able to call on the services of Minhas – who had a year left on a two year contract at Vanarama National League South side Billericay Town – alongside former Hayes & Yeading United striker Lee Barney who joined the club last week.

Minhas scored 30 goals in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division before moving to Essex and Billiericay and subsequently a loan move to Bostik League Premier Division side Kingstonian.

Speaking to Football in Berkshire, Lock said: “Signing Minhas is massive for this club. He’s obviously had offers but he’s known me a long time and he just wants to play football. He believes Bracknell is the best place for him to do that right now and continue to improve.”

Lock added that the strike force of Barney and Minhas was his priority when taking over at the club.

He said: “We have worked tirelessly over the summer to get this one over the line. Many thanks to Billericay Football Club who have been professional throughout.

“Nathan is a player who I rate very highly. He is young, hungry, technically gifted and a brilliant finisher.”

In May, Minhas was listed as on Billericay’s ‘retained’ list, but a follow up post in June changed the strikers status to ‘in talks’, raising hopes the forward may make a return to Berkshire.
