One of the Uhlsport Hellenic League’s most prolific strikers of recent years is making a return to step 5 after firing Thatcham Town to FA Vase and Premier Division title glory last season.

Cooper-Clark, who counts Bracknell Town and Wokingham & Emmbrook amongst his former clubs is joining Reading City on what we understand is a permanent transfer, not a dual registration.

The forward scored 62 goals in all competitions last season including the 24th-minute penalty that saw the Kingfishers lift the Vase at Wembley Stadium when they beat Stockton Town 1-0.

He scored 29 and 40 league goals over the last two seasons and will likely line up alongside City’s 13 goal scorer Mitch Parker at Scours Lane.

City looked a good bet to challenge for the Hellenic Premier Division title this season but a double defeat to Ardley United in recent weeks set them back. The addition of Cooper-Clark will surely put them back on track.
