Wokingham & Emmbrook boss Clive McNelly has signed the experienced goalkeeper Ashley East ahead of the Satsuma’s trip to Chinnor in Hellenic League Division 1 East on Saturday.
The former Henley Town and Highmoor-IBIS stopper joins initially as cover for Sean Woodward but McNelly believes East will bring some much needed Hellenic League experience to his side.

The Sumas supremo said: “The signing of Ash will bring valuable Hellenic League experience between to stick’s for us. It’s important we have that experience particularly as we have a number of players adjusting to football at this level.
“Ashley initially comes in as cover for last season’s supporters player of the year, Woody (Sean Woodward) as he is not available until mid-September due to cricketing commitments with Emmbrook & Bearwood Cricket Club.”
East played 20 times for Highmoor last season in the Hellenic Premier Division.
Wokingham visit Chinnor on Saturday afternoon following an opening day 2-1 defeat to Didcot Town Reserves.
