Duncan Culley and a Seb Bowerman penalty ensured Bracknell Town’s lead at the top of the Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division One extended to eight points after Basingstoke Town suffered defeat at home to Marlow.

Bracknell, whose only defeat of the season so far came against Marlow, beat South Park 2-0 on Saturday afternoon with Bowerman scoring from the penalty spot after 15 minutes while Culley struck in first-half injury time to seal the points for the Robins.

New Bracknell signing Zidan Akers was an unused sub for the fixture, the former Hearts, Reading FC and Hungerford Town man made a goalscoring debut in midweek in the 3-2 Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup defeat to Thatcham Town.

Watch Seb Bowerman’s strike from the penalty spot:

Binfield earned a share of the points in a 2-2 draw with third placed Uxbridge on Saturday with all four goals coming in the first-half.

Ollie Harris opened the scoring for the Moles, putting to bed any hangover from his penalty disappointment against Truro City the previous weekend, after 12 minute but goals from Anthony Mendy and Mahlondo Martin on 24 and 30 minutes saw Binfield behind.

But captain Sean Moore levelled things with his fifth of the season while Binfield finished the game with 10 men after Jamie McClurg was sent off in the 88th minute for a second bookable offence, the first earned two minutes earlier and the Moles had a penalty shout turned down with five minutes remaining.
