In the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division, the Stag Meadow derby finished all square with a 2-2 draw between Windsor and Virginia Water.
Danny Horscroft had opened the scoring for the Royalists after just six minutes but the ‘visitors’ hit back with a 75th minute Josh Hill penalty and Enow Ojong thought he’d won it five minutes later with the Waters second.
Drama though ensued when Billy Montague missed the chance to equalise from the penalty spot on 83 minutes, only for Waters Louis Sanders to concede an own goal with three minutes of normal time left on the clock.
Elliott Legg was the hero for Binfield on Tuesday night as his 74th minute scorcher ended Flackwell Heath’s winning start to the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division season with a 2-1 win.
The strike, along with Ollie Harris’ goal right after half-time ensured Carl Withers and Jamie McClurg’s men turned it around after conceding the opener after two minutes.
As well as the second-half performance, there would have been some relief for Moles fans to see captain Sean Moore in the starting line-up after the striker was withdrawn 10 minutes into the 1-1 draw at Longlevens on Saturday. Read the full Moles report here.
