It seemed that the Gods were willing the Robins to win on Saturday afternoon from the 15th minute when Joel Jacobs inswinging corner kick was blown over the line by a sudden gust of wind despite vociferous protests from the Ashford Town players.
Liam Ferdinand added to his goal tally beating Tyler Tobin at the near post for the second 10 minutes later.
The first half was completed with an eight minute hat-trick for Adam Cornell all of which were set up by Joe Grant.
Mark Scott had one meaningful save to make before half time but other than that it was a case of just doing what was necessary.
Half time: Bracknell Town 5 – 0 Ashford Town
The second half was a comparatively tepid affair with the home side pressing to get more goals, but several offside decisions combined with saves from Tobin kept them at bay until finally Kensley Maloney burst through the defence and slotted a shot into the bottom right hand corner to make it 6-0.
Although Bracknell had several more chances they were relaxed by now knowing that Westfield would be their opponent on Tuesday night at Larges Lane.
Cheshunt beat Westfield whilst Ware beat Marlow so it will be Cheshunt who will host Marlow in the other one in this division.
