The run is over for the Berks & Bucks FA County under 18 side after a 4-2 defeat at Hyde United by the Manchester FA.
Binfield’s Eddie Lee (pictured) and Wokingham & Emmbrook’s Josh Harris both started the fixture and it was the former who levelled things up on 25 minutes after Taylor Dyson had given Manchester a 1-0 lead.
The hosts powered ahead though and were 4-1 up with 25 minutes to go when James Henry gave the visitors hope with an 80th minute goal.
Post match, manager Aaron Steadman tweeted praise for his young side who were up against full time players. He said: “Nothing but praise to the whole squad. It was always going to be a huge ask playing against Salford City A92 academy. They get to train together everyday but our boys showed Great desire, character and heart and most of this group are only U17! Done themselves proud.”
