Lucy Holzman-Clarke strikes but Ascot United out of SSE Women’s FA Cup

Heavy rain over night severely affected the SRWFL and TVCWFL fixture lists

It might have been a sunny afternoon on Sunday but heavy rain over night put paid to a lot of fixtures across the Southern Region Women’s Football League and Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League.

Woodley United’s SRWFL Premier Division tie with Winchester City Flyers at Bulmershe Pavillions fell by the wayside while the entire Division 1 fixture list followed suit.

In the SSE Women’s FA Cup it was a tough afternoon for Ascot United who were beaten 11-2 at Ashford Town (Middlesex). The Yellawomen’s goals came from Lucy Holzman-Clarke (pictured) and Steph Fettes.

In the TVCWFL Division 2 East both Holyport and Binfield’s games were postponed while Ascot United Reserves were beaten 5-4 at home to Abbey Rangers Ladies Reserves. Nicole Brown (2), Courtney Gibbons and Darcey Young all scored for United.
