Binfield manager Roger Herridge called it ‘one of those nights’ as his side suffered a heavy 7-3 defeat at Royal Wootton Bassett Town on Wednesday night.
A young Moles side were heroic in their defeat of Tuffley Rovers on Saturday but couldn’t repeat that when a rampant Bassett scored five in the opening half an hour in Wiltshire and a sixth a minute before the break with a reply from Brad Pagliaroli to make it 6-1.
Harvey Scholes made it 7-1 on the hour but Binfield substitutes Luke Hayden and Sean Moore had the desired affect, Hayden scoring on 75 minutes and Moore on 78 before being sent off for a second bookable offence minutes later.
One of those nights tonight … a 1st half when everything went wrong … everything ! Showed character after the break . Young squad who will learn from it . Good going forward …a bit to work on defensively ! Well done to W Bassett .
