Crowthorne Inn stay top of Bracknell Sunday League Premier, can anyone stop WAB in Division 1?

Spoils were shared in the top fixture in the Premier Division with Crowthorne Inn and FC Meta drawing 1-1 and stay top though William Twigg Vets closed the gap to 4 points after their 4-2 defeat of Golden Farmer Rangers. FC Fernhill’s recent upturn in form continued and their 4-1 win against Bracknell Cavaliers moves them into 5th position. Completing this week’s Premier Division fixtures Finchampstead Athletic thrashed Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW by 7-0. That win consolidates Finch’s top half position and leaves Wokingham rooted to the bottom without a point.

Morale Madrid crashed out of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup, losing the penalty shoot-out 2-4 after the game had finished 5-5.

WAB continued to top Division 1 with another victory, this time against AFC Crowthorne (3-1). Loveman United moved into 2nd place following a 3-0 win away against Finchampstead Athletic Reserves. Raglan and Binfield Royals shared the points following their 1-1 draw whilst Berkshire All Stars moved into 5th following their 2-0 win against Ashridge Park. WAB’s lead at the top is now 10 points though Loveman have 4 games in hand.

Top team in Division 2 Warfield United dropped points in a 1-1 draw with Bracknell Saint Germain and that result left the door ajar for the chasing pack. Closest rivals Woodley United and Athletico Ascot both won (3-1 against Berks County and 2-0 against Ashridge Park Royals respectively). Warfields advantage at the top is now 4 points.

Silver Birch A suffered a shock 2-4 defeat to FC Harmanswater but remain 4 points clear at the top of Division 4. The only other game to be played saw Finchampstead Athletic A defeat Whitegrove Pythons 5-4. That win moves Finch up into 3rd, 4 points behind Birch with a game in hand.

Six of our teams were due to play in round 3 of the Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy today but these games have not been published on the FA Full-Time website and we hope to include a round-up of these results in next week’s preview. We do know though that Silver Birch suffered home defeat at the hands of Theale by 0-3.
