TJ Bohane set Bracknell Town on the way to an excellent 3-0 win at home to Wantage Town on Tuesday night at Larges Lane, but only after the visitors were reduced to 10 men following a lunging challenge on Seb Bowerman in the Hellenic Premier Division.
Bohane headed home the youngsters cross after he got back to his feet to give the Robins the lead in the second half and both Joe Grant and Adam Cornell then pounced to ensure there would be no repeat of the defeat in the previous meeting between the two sides.
Elsewhere Ricardo Cannon got Windsor off to a flying start in the opening quarter of an hour as the Royalists beat Abingdon United 4-0.
An own goal doubled the lead for Mick Woodham’s before the break and Kieran Knight and Jack Denton made it safe in the second half.
Mitchell Parker gave Highmoor Ibis a 1-0 lead at Thatcham Town in the 11th minute but the Kingfishers hit back on the half hour mark and then heartbreak for the visitors conceding an own goal in the final minutes to end up with a 2-1 defeat.
And further late (we think – awaiting confirmation) heartbreak for Ascot United who looked like they might just hold Flackwell Heath to a draw before going down 1-0 at Wilks Park.
Tuesday night’s Hellenic Premier Division results:
- Abingdon United 0 – 4 Windsor
- Bracknell Town 3 – 0 Wantage Town
- Flackwell Heath 1 – 0 Ascot United
- Thatcham Town 2 – 1 Highmoor Ibis
- Woodley United 2-1 Brackley Town Saints (Monday)
