Watch Elliot Thompson’s penalty save that helps Binfield FC youth to big win

Moles youngsters come from a goal down at home to Thatcham Town

Thatcham Town youth struck the first blow in the opening night of the Allied Counties Youth League at Hill Farm Lane but it was Binfield who fought back to record an emphatic win – thanks in no small part to the shot stopping of goalkeeper Elliot Thompson.

Having gone a goal down, the Moles fought back with a 25th minute strike from Josh Griggs before a slightly fortuitous second from Enow Ojong.

With minutes to go though the referee pointed to the spot in the Binfield penalty area but Thompson proved equal to the task as you can see in the video above.

Jimmy Craske sent us this contribution on the game: “Binfield started their Allied Counties Central campaign win a 6-1 win over Thatcham Town at Hill Farm Lane on Thursday Night. Goals came from Josh Griggs, Ennow Ojong, Callum Wright, Ryan Lyall and Aaron Layne with a brace. Goalkeeper Elliot Thompson also saved a penalty. Next Thursday night the young Moles travel to Thame United in the FA Youth Cup.”
