Bracknell Town stayed top of the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division with five games to go after a superb 7-2 win over visitors Brimscombe & Thrupp.
And it was youngster Bowerman’s first half hat-trick that set the Robins on their way with opening two goals – one from the penalty spot – while TJ Bohane netted the third before the visitors pulled one back.
Bowerman sealed his trio of first half strikes with the Robins fourth just before half time as Bracknell looked to have sewn up the points for the afternoon.
That though was only the first five goals on an afternoon that saw nine go in at Larges Lane with Bowerman adding a fifth and his fourth while Bohane got his second and a rare appearance from Ian Davies who scored his first for the club.
Bracknell’s title rivals kept up with the pace beating Royal Wootton Bassett Town 1-0 at home.
