Ascot United travelled to struggling Ardley United on Saturday and were on the receiving end of a heavy 5-0 defeat in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League.
Having been on a great run of form since the FA Cup replay defeat at Tonbridge Angels, United had won four of their last five matches scoring 20 goals but a disastrous second half saw the Yellamen concede four in 24 minutes at Ardley who hadn’t previously won in four games.
Binfield themselves suffered a little bit of a shock result at Stubbs Lane when they were beaten by Brackley Town Saints – a position below Ardley in 15th.
All the goals came in a first half punctuated by an injury to the linesman – who was replaced by a well known member of the crowd – but it was the visitors who took a 2-0 lead before Luke Scope pulled back a consolation for the Moles.

It was a rare third defeat in a row for Binfield who have dropped to fifth in the table – but are still well in touch with the leaders.
