Binfield Reserves manager Ellis Woods was full of praise for his side as they overcame a stubborn Chalvey Sports Reserves 2-0 in the Fielden Cup Final at Larges Lane last night.
Posting on facebook, the Moles boss – in his first season managing the reserves side, said: “Unable to really show what we could do on the ball last night.
“Dealt with the conditions and opposition unbelievably! It was a very nice way to end our season.”
There was plenty of response on social media as well, not least from Binfield first team manager Roger Herridge (who is back in the good books BTW).
Congrats to @EllisWoods & team in retaining the Fielden Cup last night. Comfortable win in the end against oppo who gave there all ⚽️🔴🏆

There was some decent comment from the defeated opposition as well.

You can’t beat a bit of lens flare on the trophy presentation either.

And there was plenty of congratulations from a crowd of around 200 – Ellis wasn’t telling porkies when he said he expected a good crowd.

It was the 13th time Binfield have lifted the trophy as a club. That’s a bit of a record. These guys from the 1939 cup winning side would be proud.
