It’s a big FA Vase weekend for Bracknell Town and joint manager Jeff Lamb has left no stone un-turned when it comes to fifth round opponents Coleshill Town. Speaking to the Bracknell News the Robins boss said: “We know what to expect from Coleshill. They are a good side and will be lively going forward but we will sit down and work out ways to beat them.”
In last weeks edition, Lamb revealed the Robins players had been offered a night off training following their exertions at Ardley United in the cup. He said: “After that game, we told the players they could have Thursday (evening) off, but they all wanted to train, as usual, which was pleasing as it shows the commitment there is within the group.”
Bracknell’s opposition in the Vase are Coleshill Town, and Lamb’s opposite number Cameron Stuart has been speaking to the Birmingham Mail. He has an interesting take on scouting the opposition. He said: “Any team you play at this stage of a national competition is going to be good. They have a 4G pitch too so our pitch will suit them as well.
“But I am not looking at them to be honest. I am not one of these managers who likes to dwell on the opposition too much. I think you can get too carried away with what they are about.”
Right..
In the National League, Hungerford Town are looking to expand their backers to add financial clout according to secretary Mike Hall speaking to the Newbury Weekly News. He said: “It is never a healthy situation to depend on one person and Nigel is still considering sponsoring the club in different ways. We have a few irons in the fire and we will be looking to bring new people in. We need to start planning now for next season and we would be delighted to hear from any possible backers or people who could help us financially.”
Wokingham & Emmbrook boss Dan Bateman is targeting a cup double with Sumas still in with a shot of reaching both the Reading Senior Cup and Hellenic League Supplementary Cup Finals. Speaking to the Wokingham Paper, Bateman said: “I really do fancy our chances in both the Supplementary Cup and the Reading Senior Cup. They’re competitions we’ve done well in in the past and we want to test ourselves against teams from a higher level and they both give us the opportunity for that.”
