Alex Reed the penalty hero AGAIN as Woodley United march on in County Cup

Goalkeeper makes it three penalty saves in a week

Another Monday night, another round of Woodley United goalkeeper Alex Reed’s County Cup penalty saving heroics to tell you about, this time as the Kestrels saw off Southern League Beaconsfield Town away from home.

The visitors scored first on 37 minutes through a Jaydyn Englefield penalty – a lead they held until the home side levelled on 52 minutes only Toby Briggs to put Woodley back in front a minute later.

With 82 minutes gone Beaconsfield levelled up again and with no extra time the tie went stright to spot kicks.

Reed saved one of Abingdon United’s kicks in the first round the previous Monday (which you can watch below) and doubled his tally this time round as United won 4-3 to advance to the third round and a possible fixture against MK Dons, Maidenhead United or Hungerford Town.

Further Berks & Bucks County Senior Cup ties are taking place on Tuesday night, details here.
