We’re a bit late to the party yes, but we’re bringing back our weekly round up of all the women’s football action across the County each weekend.
Division One South West, FA Women’s National League
It was League Cup weekend as both Ascot United and Maidenhead United were in group stage action, unfortunately both on the end of heavy defeats with the Yellas unable to get on the scoresheet in a 6-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth and the Magpies only able to muster a consolation goal in a 7-1 thrashing by Chelsea Academy.

Ascot sit third in the group having won one, drawn one, lost one. They are still in with a chance of entering into the Plate as it stands based on results elsewhere. Meanwhile, Maidenhead find themselves in a similar position despite having lost 6-1 previously to AFC Wimbledon, they were this week awarded the three points when it was found that Wimbledon had fielding an ineligible player in the tie.
Premier Division, Southern Region Women’s Football League
Goals from former Magpies, Nat Cowell and Sarah Thompson saw Reading pick up all three points away from home to Southampton with fox in the box Tyra Wilson, dual-signed from Swindon Town, on the scoresheet also to make it three for the Royals.

Woodley unfortunately fell foul to the weather and the plight of the Rivermoor as their game with AFC Porchester was called off with hours to go.
Division One North, Southern Region Women’s Football League
Slough Town’s tumultuous start to the season continues as they were on the wrong end of a 3-1 loss at Farnborough, Taylor Spence with her first goal of the season for the Rebels to spoil the clean sheet for the hosts.
Ascot United Reserves had their fifth game of the season postponed.
Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League
Division One
Ashridge Park welcomed fellow Berkshire side Eversley & California to Cantley Park in a closely fought battle which saw the visitors come out on top with two goals to one. Rebekah Pantony and Chloe Watkins the goalscorers for the victors.
Ashridge Park on an excellent run in the FA Cup as it stands, our local ranked side left in the competition as they may club history.
Elsewhere, Caversham United are settling back in Thames Valley life with ease having scored eight goals in two matches so far in the division, including a triumphant trip to Marlow Town over the weekend with an Ashton Downey hattrick contributing to the 7-1 scoreline.

Finchampstead have been busy on cup runs accruing an impressive 4-0 win away to new side Bracknell Cavalier Valkyries who ply trade in Division Three South. Four different scorers on the sheet in Amelie Bowles, Isabelle Dawson, Ebony Day and Ruby Huggins.
Wallingford and Crowmarsh’s Trophy tie saw them with a convincing 4-2 victory over Maidenhead Nomads.
Division Two North
Wallingford and Crowmarsh Devs flying the Berkshire flag solo in the division were unfortunately on the end of an 8-0 thrashing by North Leigh.
Division Two South
AFC Reading were on the road to Denham United and unfortunately returned with nil poise having lost 6-2, a goal from Loren Alsford. They will however be looking to gain some momentum in league after an emphatic county cup win netting 14 goals against Newbury Town the week before.
Burghfield’s Katy McNicholas with their winning strike in their League Cup Preliminary Round tie with Mursley United to secure a 1-0 victory.
Elsewhere, Windsor & Eton are flying high at the top of the division having nabbed another three points in a 2-0 win against Beaconsfield Town Devs, Jacqui Hanson with the brace adding to her five goal tally for the season.
Division Three West
Burghfield Reserves League Cup tie was postponed. Newbury’s tie with Goring United was abandoned.
Both Thatcham & Newbury Blues and Thatcham & Newbury Whites were on the wrong end of the scoreline with the Blues Alisha Bush with the only goal in both games.
Division Three South
Berks County played out a 3-3 thriller with Taplow United, Clodagh Farrell their hattrick hero. Bracknell Cavaliers Valkyries, new to the league, fell foul to higher opposition Finchampstead.

Finchampstead Reserves welcomed near neighbours Wargrave to the Memorial Ground playing out a 2-1 loss to the Berkshire visitors. Both goals from Millie Whitmee.
Maidenhead Nomads struggled to find a way through against higher opposition in Wallingford & Crowmarsh, goals from Vicki Middleton and Lucy Dodwell-Bennett made it a respectable 4-2 loss.
Wokingham Town hosted Chinnor in the League Cup but ran out a 5-0 loss at Emmbrook.
Development Division
Arborfield have started the season full steam ahead yet to drop points including the weekend just gone where they welcomed East Oxford Reserves and ran out 4-2 winners, a hattrick from Hannah Room and one for good measure from Dawn Higgitt.
Bracknell Cavaliers Vixens will the only Berkshire 0-0 of the weekend when they were on the road to Holmer Green. Meanwhile, Sandhurst FC Vets Warriors hit 5 away from home at Longford Park FC Vixens Development, Emilie Shaw the top scorer of the weekend with 4 to her name with Stephanie Marshall sealing the dealing for a fifth.
And last but by no means least, Wraysbury Village with the biggest scoreline of the weekend as they hammered FC Bucklebury Sabres 10-1 on home turf with no less than six goalscorers on the sheet.

Finchampstead vs Eversley & California
Finch have come racing out the traps by stamping their mark on the FA Cup whilst Eversley have scored seven goals in two games. Sure to be a cracker with neither side wanting to drop points this early in the season.
