A lot is being made of the direction of Twitter at the moment, not for the first time.
Football in Berkshire is dedicated to bringing you news and features covering the beautiful grassroots game in the Royal County, and has done for almost a decade.
Twitter has been a mainstay of our growth, and in reality it is the only place for comprehensive coverage of non league and women’s football in the country, never mind the county.
Recent developments though mean that audiences are shifting and moving on – it remains to be seen if people stay away. However if the platform does become marginalised we – and our clubs – need to make sure our eggs aren’t all in one basket.
In addition, Twitter (and Facebook for that matter) actively reduce the reach of posts with links in them. That’s not waffle, our analytics show a marked drop in traffic to the website. The website is our bread and butter. Where all the info lives, fixtures, transfers, interviews. We’d like people to see it, so certainly giving our new Bluesky account a follow would be lovely.
