Berks County are the sole Berkshire survivor of the Combined Counties League play-off semi-final weekend after beating Eversley & California 2-1 on Saturday.

The Swords were one of five sides – including Eversley – that Football in Berkshire had its eyes on going into the end-of-season showdown, but Holyport and Reading City in the Premier Division North, Tadley Calleva in the South all bowed out with away defeats.

County will now travel to British Airways (played at Bedfont & Feltham FC) on Tuesday night for a place at Step 5 – likely either the Combined Counties League North.

For Holyport, their 4-0 defeat at Rayners Lane was compounded by the news ‘historic’ manager Sam Lock had decided to step down on Monday night. This season Port have set league and cup records in the FA Cup and FA Vase this season and made the play-offs on the last day of the season.

As far as Reading City are concerned, it was probably a game to far after an exhausting April playing catch up. The Cityzens were beaten 5-2 at Bedfont Sports.

British Airways vs Berks County is a 7:45pm kick off at Bedfont & Feltham FC on Tuesday 7th May 2024. Live updates available via FiB on Twitter here.
