Woodley United stopper Sophie Cheadle is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Player of the Season (Female).

As well as a Berkshire award nomination, Sophie has claimed the SRWFL Premier Division Golden Glove award for the 2023/24 season.

The nomination we received for this award said: “Woodley’s #1 is a phenomenal shot stopper, organiser, and distributor of the ball. Being a Woodley follower I know that I am biased but it is very common for me to hear her get plaudits from opposition and neutral observers. She has the ability to match her confidence and will happily dummy and dribble past attackers. She is also fantastic at managing the game and slowing things down when needed and is not afraid of a bit of showboating to wind up the opposition!”
