Hot on the heals of Dave Kitson’s Caversham United debut, another former Reading FC star has been snapped in Sunday League action.
The striker appeared for The Nags Head in a 3-2 Reading & District Sunday League cup semi final defeat to Arbor Athletic.
Unlike Kitson’s one off appearance however, Roach has played eight times this season, scoring once, for the fourth division side who are second in their table with games in hand over leaders Thames Valley Railway.
Roach made 16 appearances for the Royals between 1996 and 1999 where he had loan spells at Slough Town and Wycombe Wanderers.
He went on to play for Southend United and Torquay United amongst others before a couple of spells with Maidenhead United and nearly 150 appearances for Basingstoke Town.
He is currently manager of the Hampshire sides under 21 team.
